  Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer "through shaft" may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.

  Remedy

  Icon will notify owners, and dealers will install a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc, free of charge. The recall began December 21, 2020. Owners may contact Icon customer service at 1-951-689-4266.

  My vehicle has 'experienced the 'F250 death wobble' on several occasions and it IS a scary feeling when it happens. Th death wobble usually happens when you are traveling at highway speeds any you hit a rough patch or bump in the road. During the 'death wobble the truck bounces all over the road and the front suspension gets light and it IS hard to maintain the vehicle in the proper lane . for these reasons, I refuse to allow my wife to drive this truck. Seeing how this IS a common hot button issue on the F250 forum, I am surprised that ford has not been forced to recall these vehicles and to fix these known issues before someone IS involved in a fatal accident as a result of the ' F250 death wobble!'

  Egr and egr cooler failed at 21,000 miles. Dealer fixed under warranty 3/22/16. Same parts have failed again at 46,000 miles and IS out of warranty. Searching the web shows this IS a common repeat failure for the 6.7 diesel and costs $2,000 for repair. Engine trouble code IS p0401. The parts or design must be defective as they only last for about 20,000 miles.

  Stalling while driving at normal speeds. after taking it to gullo dealership while in tx, the dealership charged us $2100 and "fixed" the problem after replacing the pcm and rcm modules. the next day, the truck stalled on the highway! took it back to gullo dealership in conroe tx and after another week and help from ford service they still can't fix the problem.

There are many complaints on this issue with ford and nhtsa - dealers are instructing owners to also to file a claim with their auto insurance company under comprehensive coverage so they insurance company pays for their faulty design. Many truck owners are taking huge losses as well as insurance companies - we ask that the nhtsa get involved with and begin an investigation into this issue.

  As I pulled out of the dealer after taking it in for a replacement mirror and washer nozzles,i got onto the freeway and at about 60 mph my my truck lost power,service engine light came on,the warning sign on the dash indicated that the truck did not have any fuel pressure and speed dropped to about 30 mph.as I was able to pull of the freeway before causing an accident,i parked the truck, contacted the dealer to see what exactly was done to my truck besides the work that needed to be done.i then was able to get back to the dealer through the streets because it was only limited to a certain speed.after the dealer took 2 weeks to inspect the truck they concluded that the truck broke down due to bad diesel fuel and possible water and rust in the fuel components.the truck IS equipped with a fuel water separator and water warning systems when it needs to be drained and maintained.never had the light indicate that truck had water or any type of issue with the fuel lines yet the dealer at ford blames it on bad fuel.warranty does not cover the damages due to bad fuel and it IS a $10,000 repair for the consumer.the truck IS also equipped with two fuel filters and yet they found debris in the fuel lines.i believe more needs to be done on their end to prevent high cost to the consumer and make their parts to standard to prevent any costly damages to the vehicles.i do not know if my insurance will cover it yet I'm still waiting on ford to finish their inspection of the truck.

Brought to all star ford antioch ca the tech said front end felt loose that drove with me. They could not find anything wrong so they said they called ford, ford told them to do a road force balance. They say that they service manager drove my truck to and from his house two times 100 mile round trip and felt nothing wrong. They gave my my truck said it was good. As I was driving home the front end still felt loose but no wobble, good enough. Six days later the death wobble came back, same as before. Called mike ray ray service manager at all star ford, he told me he believes my but they cannot find a problem so I should bring somewhere else to look at it. I am bringing to tracy ford today, the bottom line IS the truck IS unsafe to drive until they fix it...

  I was driving down fm 624 when I came up to an 18 wheeler that was coming to a stop. I stepped on the brake pedal and nothing happened, the pedal was solid like I had brakes but the truck didn't respond. I hit the back of the semi at about 40mph and tore the front end off my truck and the airbags didn't go off. Ford said that there was a traction control code at the time of the accident but that did not affect the stopping and even thou the front bumper moved during the impact it didn't take a direct hit so that's why the airbag didn't go off. There IS enough damage to my truck that everything from the windshield forward needs to be replaced including the front bumper. The state trooper who worked the accident got in my truck and stepped on the brakes (with the truck off) and said there IS nothing wrong with my truck, but also he could not tell me the difference between power brakes and a hydro-boost brake system. Informed him that he needs to get some schooling before he can tell if the hydro-boost system on my truck IS good or not.... *tr

  The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this RQ to investigate allegations that the scope and remedy of safety recall 13V-535 were inadequate. Recall 13V-535 was limited to a relatively small population of Ambulance Package vehicles and ODI received complaints of pickup trucks and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles being affected by the same defect. Ford manufactured approximately 555,985 subject vehicles between February 22, 2010 and January 30, 2015 that may be affected by defective EGT sensors and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software calibration. The subject vehicles are equipped with four (4) EGT sensors to monitor engine operating conditions. An EGT sensor fault may produce false exhaust over-temperature signals. If these signals are produced, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) implements a Failure Management Effects Mode (FMEM) and the driver receives a Stop Safely Now (SSN) system warning on the instrument cluster message center. The FMEM triggers a 70% reduction in available engine power over a period of no more than 45 seconds, during which it may not be possible to accelerate or maintain vehicle speed. The PCM then commands the engine to shut down when vehicle speed reaches approximately 1 mph. There is no immediate restart capability. Depending on the PCM software calibration, ignition key position and ambient temperature conditions, the engine may not restart until the end of a 10-60 minute cool down period.Ford and its component supplier(s) made numerous changes to the PCM software calibration and the design, material and manufacture of the EGT sensors over the period of subject vehicle production. This continuous product improvement affected vehicle performance regarding the alleged defect. Ford acknowledges the defect condition in the subject vehicles but argues that an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety is limited to Ambulance Package and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles where commanded shutdown could impact emergency response and patient care. Ford also argues that the defect trend is in decline. Ford also initiated a new safety recall (15V-175) to address the 13V-535 remedy concerns in the Ambulance Package vehicles and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles. The 15V-175 remedy reprograms the PCM with a new software calibration that stops a single EGT sensor fault to cause the vehicle to enter the FMEM shutdown mode.Ford also initiated an EPA emissions recall (14E03) for all subject vehicles that reprograms the PCM with the software calibration employed in safety recall 15V-175. Finally, Ford initiated a Customer Satisfaction Program (15M01) providing extended warranty coverage of 8 years or 80,000 miles for the the EGT sensors on certain MY2011-2012 subject vehicles.Due to the EPA emissions recall, that had a 66.6% completion rate in Ford's December 2015 progress report to the EPA, the defect trend is in decline. ODI is not aware of any crashes, deaths or injuries related to the alleged defect.ODI believes the alleged defect poses a safety risk but notes that the EPA emissions recall is addressing the safety problem.Compelling issuance of a duplicate recall would not represent a wise use of agency resources.Accordingly, this Recall Query is closed.This action is not a finding that no defect exists and NHTSA will take further action if such action is warranted.

Typewriter Noise is not detrimental to engine function or durability and has no short or long term effects on the engine. Do not attempt repairs to eliminate this noise. This noise is characteristic of the 6.7L diesel engine and will typically cease or diminish significantly within the oil change maintenance interval.

New parts have been released to service this condition. Replace the exhaust manifold on the side with a broken stud. On cylinders 1,2,3,5,6 and 7 use stud part number W715713-S431. If replacing the studs on cylinders 4 and/or 8 use stud part number W717172-S900 and replace both studs and install new spacers and heat shields on the affected side(s). • 10201092This program extends the warranty coverage of the catalytic converter portion of the selective catalyst reduction (SCR) system for twelve months of service, beginning on the date the powertrain control module (PCM) is reprogrammed under Emissions Recall 21E01. This program only applies if an SCR (converter) fault is detected and it is related to a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P20EE identified after 21E01 has been performed. This is a one-time repair.

To correct the condition, remove the exhaust and stand the exhaust up with the turbocharger inlet side facing down using a suitable drain pan. Allow the exhaust to drain for at least 24 hours and reinstall. Do not perform a manual exhaust regeneration.

• 101865672011-2021 F-Super Duty and 2016-2021 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit a high/elevated idle condition. During prolonged idle time, vehicles may experience this high/elevated idle to reduce buildup of unburned hydrocarbons from the SCR system. The powertrain control module (PCM) estimates hydrocarbon levels in the SCR and may increase idle speed to remove them. Idle speed will be increased to 1000 revolutions per minute (rpms) for ambient temperatures near 26C (80F) and may increase to as high as 1200 rpms at -40 C (-40F). These elevated idle periods can last from 20-40 minutes, depending on ambient temperatures. During power take off (PTO) use and already using idle set point control, the elevated speed is disabled. It is required that the operator monitor the vehicle and adhere to the Exhaust Filter warning messages.

• 10179325Some 2011-2020 F-Super Duty, 2015-2019 Transit, 2016-2021 F-650/F-750 and 2018-2020 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L, 3.2L or 3.0L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P207F, P20EE, P229F, P2201 and/or P24AE. This may be a result of using aftermarket cleaning liquids or tools for the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler or intake. Ford does not recommend the cleaning of diesel intakes or EGR coolers using any aftermarket tool that injects a cleaning foam or liquid substance into the EGR cooler or intake. Using these types of fluids can result in sodium poisoning of the NOx and particulate matter (PM) sensors resulting in degraded operation and permanent damage to the after treatment system. Use of these cleaning tools may void the emissions warranty of the hot end after treatment exhaust system and the attached emissions sensors.

• 10164598Some remanufactured 6.7L diesel engines recently installed in 2011-2014 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a lack of power with engine oil temperature (EOT) exceeding 125C (257F) under loads. This may also be accompanied by REDUCED ENGINE POWER being displayed in the message center and the coolant temperature gauge indicating H. This symptom may be due to a missing metering cup plug in the upper oil pan causing reduced oil flow through the oil cooler. Remanufactured engines built on 1-Mar-2019 and through 13-May-2019 may be affected. If a vehicle exhibits this concern, use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the OASIS tab and submit a report. Include the engine serial number and engine build date in the report. The dealership may be contacted for further details and possible repair direction.
• 10164508Some 2010-2020 vehicles may exhibit distorted glass with a subtle orange peel pattern or streaking etched into the surface. This is caused by hydrofluoric acid which is used in some car wash solutions as a cleaning agent. Hydrofluoric acid can attack the glass and cause visual distortion and/or discoloration on the outer surface which cannot be removed by further cleaning. If this type of distortion is found, inspect the area of the glass that is covered by the cowl and/or molding. The portion of glass that is covered by the cowl or molding will not be affected by the acid. Hydrofluoric acid damage is not a defect in material or workmanship and is not a warrantable condition.
• 10164497For Ford and Lincoln vehicles that require positive or negative battery terminal replacement, it is not necessary to replace the complete battery cable harness (14300 and 14301) for this concern. Positive battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-AA and negative battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-BA are available for this type of repair. Do not cut or shorten the battery cable, instead carefully remove the affected battery cable clamp and clean the cable end as necessary to preserve wire length. Some rework may be necessary for some vehicle environments. Bend the new positive battery cable clamp as needed and crimp it to the existing battery cable. Make sure to use heat shrink tubing over the battery cable to battery cable clamp connection. Obtain the heat shrink tube locally.
• 10162082Some 2011-2019 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may come in for scheduled maintenance on the engine mounted fuel filter. When reconnecting a fuel line quick connect fitting back onto the engine mounted fuel filter housing, push the connector all the way onto the fuel filter connection port. For some vehicles, you may need to depress a retainer clip to lock the quick connect port into place. Once the fitting is latched fully onto the connection port, pull straight backward on the fuel line to verify it is fully latched onto the connection port. Do not bend the fuel line connection when pulling to verify it is connected. Refer to Workshop Manual sections 310-00 for details on quick connect fittings.
• 10160931On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission it is imperative that the converter pilot hub be greased with Motorcraft Multi-Purpose Grease Spray XL-5-A even if grease was not applied from the factory. Also verify that the engine/transmission alignment dowel pins are present as well as the engine crankshaft dowel pin, if equipped, when installing the transmission. Failure to adequately lubricate the converter hub greatly increases the likelihood of the flexplate cracking in the future. Missing dowels may cause a misalignment issue also resulting in a premature failure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01.
