  The transmission is malfunctioning. The shifting in the gears has become rough with kick or clunk feeling. This happens when increasing speed and decreasing speed. The Transmission has even gotten stuck in 2nd, and 4th gears. Our safety was at risk because when the gears were stuck the vehicle would not increase in speed, in the flow if traffic. The transmission has been inspected by 3 Transmission Mechanic shops, and has been confirmed by all 3. There have not been warning signs or lights on the dashboard to alert us of the problem. This appears to be random and out of the blue. The truck is available for inspection upon request.

  My vehicle will just shut off. No warning. No lights. It shuts off, I have to turn on my hazards, put it in park and restart the vehicle. It has shut off whether I am going forward/straight or turning, going 25 MPH - 40 MPH. it has shut off as I am turning and cars are coming down the street; at a school zone; under an under pass; one time we were on the freeway and it kept wanting to shut off but had to really press on the gas to keep it going and thankfully we made it to the service center. Sometimes it feels like the gas peddle is pushing my foot back. you press on the gas and nothing happens. Other times it seems to accelerate on its own. I have had this happen multiple times since we bought the vehicle in May of 2022., sometimes 4 or 5 times in a day. I have taken it to two different service places and neither could replicate the problem. One mechanic told me he thinks it could be the body control module. I take my niece and nephews to and from school and it certainly does not feel safe, but it is my only working vehicle and it is aggravating and I am getting tired and frustrated of this happening. PLEASE HELP.

Truck would stall and lose power at stop lights and intersections because it was seizing and taking energy from the battery and truck. Was told it was a cam sensor the whole time it was the a/c compressor pulley and cluth that disconnected and fell off while driving. Scariest thinng ever in my life. And the fact I cant get a a/c bypass pulley for this year of this truck im basically screwed because its a middle of a pandemic my children are in remote learning from home for school I cant work because of that I cant there for I dont have the money to buy a new a/c compressor and serpentine belt or get them installed.   Ford vehicle shuts off sporadically with multiple warning lights while driving and stationary. The brakes also seize up to the point where they over heat and could catch fire. The most recent event happened may 15TH after picking the car up from my local repair shop to try and repair what ford dealerships has not been able to repair. It shut off on the way home. May 16TH the brakes locked up. this issue has been going on for a over a year. My vehicle has been to several repair shops and was recently at auto nation ford in union city ga for over a month awaiting a part that never showed up. I picked the vehicle up and took it to another local shop that was able to secure the part and replace it, but that still did not fix the problem. So far, I've spent upwards of $8000 in the span of a year and the issue still has not been resolve. Repairs from brake pads and rotors to the calipers and hydraulic system and even a full 4X4 transfer case asymbley so far none of the repairs has worked. It has shut off in the past while driving to work on the express way in heavy traffic areas. This vehicle IS just unsafe to drive. I searched the internet and found other videos of ford owners that are also going through this issue with the same results. I have video which IS the best visual since there are multiple warnings that pop up.

This conversion also hampered the traction control requiring the driver to turn off traction control prior to operating the vehicle to avoid difficulty maneuvering around turns. These operating deficiencies are only on the vehicle with vin# [xxx]. We were aware of the situation when we purchased the vehicle however, we have sold the vehicle "as IS" at auction but it appears that it IS being "flipped" by several owners. A 2007 chevy silverado that was on the northbound side, made a left-hand turn in front of the expedition without yielding right of way to oncoming traffic. The expedition was traveling about 35 mph and the brakes locked up leaving skid marks on the pavement. There was no time to react as it took place so quickly. the vehicles collided right front to right front. Then as the vehicles continued in motion the expedition was dragged sideways into a t-bone type position with the side of the silverado, and the front of the expedition slide down the side of the silverado in this position causing damage to the silverado's passenger front fender, door, extended cab door and front of the bedside. The backend of the silverado came up off of the ground and then the vehicles separated. The whole front of the expedition was taken off. it was deemed a total loss. Fire department was surprised the airbags did not deploy and advised us to stay out of the vehicle at that point. There were three occupants in the expedition, all wearing seatbelts, including the driver, a passenger in the right front seat and a passenger in the right seat of the second row of seating. The right front passenger was heavily bruised across the chest from the seatbelt locking up. However that particular seatbelt would often lock up and start cinching down on whoever was occupying that seat on a regular basis prior to this accident. And when the seat belt would do so it would have to be unfastened and let to pull all the way back in, pulled back out and refastened. So even with its prior apparent defect it still locked up in the collision, just no air bag deployment.

Later, my family went on a trip to nc in the expedition & on our way home my front passenger tire completely came apart from the inside out on the interstate. My tire sensor light had come on maybe 10 minutes at most prior to the tire exploding, we should've had time to make it to a gas station. I brought my car to sarasota ford the next day & was told I should have immediately put a spare on my car & brought the tire in because most likely the valve stem was leaking & they would've covered the tire. Jimmy said that I ruined the tire because of driving on it with low tire pressure. I paid the $225.because I still had a spare tire on my car & I wasn't comfortable with it & I wasn't getting anywhere trying to tell him that I didn't believe you can be given a 10 min.warning to get your tire off the road before it just disintegrates. I'm not sure if it would've gone differently if I'D been a guy! I've been dealing with sarasota ford a long time & they have all of my service log records. I get my oil changed every 3,000 mi , my tires rotated every other oil change & the records will show that I take care of any needs that my car has, I don't ignore them as he would imply. I'm extremely disappointed in sarasota ford for being so quick to blame me for this tire failure & I'm obviously not happy with perelli tire either. I am very thankful we were just very inconvenienced & no one was hurt. Luckily there are many other choices for tires & tire companies for the rest of our vehicles.

  On 04/14/2015 my friend our 2010 ford expedition el limited in the driveway and went into the house. approximately 2 hours later she heard the alarm go off and went outside to investigate. the car had dark tints on the windows but the car looked darker than normal then she realized she couldn't see in the car because it was full of black smoke. a few seconds later she saw a spark coming from the middle section of the dash board then all the windows blew out at once and the car burst into flames. she called 911 and the fire department managed to keep the fire from spreading to my house and my neighbor's house. the fire was so hot it melted the frames of my windows and scorched the siding on that side of the house. the tree, bushes , grass and liriope on that side of the house caught on fire and there IS glass all over my yard. the car was completely destroyed. I understand that ford has had similar fires in the past with earlier models. apparently they have not fixed all of the problems. the car was working well until the day it caught on fire. the arson investigator said that it looked like it might have started in the navigation system. now I am reading that ford has had problems with a "defective cruise control switch that has caused trucks to go up in flames? Similar to how my expedition was destroyed. I also read that ford expeditions as well as other ford trucks have had a ?possible defect in the speed control deactivation switch?. the article stated that, ?some switches could leak. because the switch has electrical power at all times, the leaking fluid could ignite and cause a fire, even when the vehicle IS unattended?. regardless of how it happened the truck obviously had a defect. Some 2003-2020 Expedition/Navigator and 2006-2020 F-150 (non-Raptor) vehicles equipped with 4WD may exhibit grinding/clicking/ratcheting noise from the front wheel area. This may be due to partial engagement of the integrated wheel ends (IWE). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to remove and cap the vacuum supply line or to reprogram the transfer case control module (TCCM) and replace any worn vacuum and/or IWE components.

• 101365972010-2018 various vehicles equipped with SYNC or SYNC 3 may not function when attempting to find or use the Spotify app via AppLink. As of an update released on 1/15/2018 Spotify will no longer be supporting their AppLink integration. No repair attempts should be attempted to correct this concern.
• 10127405Some vehicles may exhibit a no start condition with an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and a DTC P161A after PCM replacement. This may be due to the parameter reset procedure not being properly completed. To clear this DTC, use the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or Ford J2534 Diagnostic Software, select - Toolbox - Body - Security - PATS Functions - Parameter Reset. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the procedure. This procedure will transfer the existing Key ID information between the modules without the need of having 2 programmed PATS keys present. There is no need to program keys when the PCM is going to be replaced. Additional information can be found in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-01. Missing or lost keys are not warrantable.
• 10109070The Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual has been revised for diagnosing electronic throttle bodies (ETBs). The ETC_ACT and ETC_DSD PIDs should not used to diagnose possible ETB concerns. The IDS has a limited refresh rate when reading these PIDs and cannot display quickly enough to validate a concern. The PCM automatically monitors these inputs more accurately and will set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) when appropriate. Using these PIDs for diagnostics will lead to inaccurate results and improper ETB replacements. If a concern is intermittent and no DTCs are present, refer to historical DTCs and the PC/ED, Section 3 No DTCs Present Index chart for further information.
• 100994632009-2017 vehicles equipped with a 6R80, 6r100, 6r140 automatic transmission have an updated main control valve body overhaul procedure. Refer to workshop manual (wsm), section 307-01 for main control valve body (7a100) overhaul procedures. Not all valve bodies require replacement. Inspect the valve body bores, springs and valves as directed during diagnosis and repair. Refer to general service bulletin (gsb) g0000093 automatic transmission main control inspection for a video clip to aid in the diagnosis of these repairs.
• 10091151Some 2008-2017 ford/mercury/lincoln vehicles equipped with sync may generate a vhr that identifies a concern with the brakes and suspension category indicating service IS required due to a brake system warning lamp being illuminated. If the park brake was applied when the vhr was gathering data from the major vehicle systems, the brakes and suspension message will be reported as the vhr looks for any warning lamps illuminated in the instrument cluster. Rerun the vhr with the engine on and vehicle in park, and ensure the park brake IS disengaged. If the sync vhr IS still reporting a concern to the customers sync owners account, refer to the appropriate workshop manual section for diagnosis by dtc or symptom. Starting in 2015 not all sync equipped vehicles support vhr, refer to the owners manual for vhr operation.
