The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.

  A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Remedy

  Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 13, 2026. Ford owners will receive letters in phases, beginning January 2026 and June 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S89. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V270. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 8, 2025.

  Front blower motor failure can increase the risk of a vehicle interior fire.

  Remedy

  Dealers will replace the front blower motor assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 4, 2023. Remedy parts are expected to become available in the second quarter of 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S56.

  Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, and 2016-2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with 3.5L Ecoboost engines. The brake master cylinder may allow brake fluid to leak from the front wheel circuit into the brake booster.

  Risk and remedy

  Risk

  A loss of brake fluid may result in a change in brake pedal travel, increased pedal effort and reduced front brake function, requiring greater effort and distance to stop the vehicle. These conditions can increase the risk of a crash.

  Remedy

  Dealers will replace the brake master cylinder. If the master cylinder is leaking, the brake booster will also be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. An interim owner notification letter notifying customers of the safety defect were mailed on April 29, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed April 29, 2022. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall number 20V-332. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S11.

  I brought my expedition in for recall 25V572, I brought it in and they said they had to run tests to see if it qualified, after testing they said that it qualified but that they didn't have the item in stock to make the repair, after several months, I called and they finally had the part to change out the camera. Problem is, it is worse than before I brought it in. The only time I get a clear image is when the hatch is in the air. I called the dealer back and they said "We changed the camera that is what the recall called for. What can I do. This is an extremely long vehicle and the back up camera aides in some tight spots. I really would like this to be working.

  My 2016 Expedition has the same 6R80 transmission as the Ford F150, for which there is a recall for the Lead Frame. My wife was driving the vehicle on the highway and the check engine light came on and the vehicle went into "limp mode" causing the vehicle to decelerate to approximately 35 mph. Needless to say, she almost caused several accidents as she tried to move to the shoulder at a very reduced speed. The code was P0715 and P0717 which is the Turbine Shaft Speed Sensor which is part of the lead frame in the transmission. As stated before, there was a recall on this issue with the F150 but not to the Expedition since Ford did not sell as many Expeditions as F150's? I was able to have the lead frame replaced, at my cost, to remedy the situation, however, the fact that this is a known issue with this transmission and only some of the cars with this transmission were recalled is morally wrong. This could have caused a major accident resulting in serious injury or death since Expeditions were not part of the recall.

  The safety incident occured on April 20, 2026, when my 2016 Expedition EL failed to stay in park on a flat level parking lot causing significant safety concerns for my vehicle and all other vehicles with the same components. My car was parked for 4-5 minutes in front of the school my son attends and because he was sick the morning I parked my vehicle in front of the main entrance of the schol in an approved parking place, I left the car running while I went inside to turn in an assignment due that morning. After giving it to the front office person and explaining which teacher it needed to be given to, I turned around to return to my vehicle only to witness my car begin moving. It rolled 2-3 car lengths before it slammed into the back of a Coca-Cola Vendor truck and stopped. I was not able to catch it before the accident happened. I knew the vehicle was not safe to drive, so I had the Expedition towed to the local Ford dealership in town. The certified Ford dealership discoovered the problem when performing diagnostics as they were able to reproduce the problem. The "parking PAWL return spring not securely locking into park. found the parking PAWL worn and the return spring collapsed meaning nothing was locking the transmission into park" There were zero warning notifcations on the electrical messaging panel to alert a driver to this potentially dangerous problem. The outcome of this situation pose a horrific risk to pedestrians, and passengers when a vehicle can begin moving into "Drive" with no passenger behind the wheel.

  I am filing this complaint regarding an unresolved and potentially dangerous safety defect involving the rearview camera system on my Ford vehicle, which was presented to Wade Ford Auto Dealership and Service in Smyrna, Georgia for a rear camera recall repair. I brought my vehicle, a 2016 Ford Expedition, to Wade Ford for recall service related to the rearview camera. Wade Ford retained my vehicle for approximately one week. When I picked up the vehicle on or about [insert pickup date], I discovered that the rear camera issue had not been corrected. The rear camera image remains dark, unclear, visually deficient, and unsafe, creating a continuing hazard when the vehicle is operated in reverse. This is not a cosmetic or convenience issue. A defective rearview camera materially impairs rear visibility and increases the risk of collision, property damage, or injury. Federal safety authorities have recognized rearview camera failures as safety concerns because blank, distorted, inverted, delayed, frozen, or unclear images can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle and increase crash risk. NHTSA recall materials for Ford rearview camera defects describe the safety consequence as reduced rear visibility and increased crash risk when the rearview camera displays a distorted, inverted, or blank image. (static.nhtsa.gov) After I raised the unresolved condition, Ford claimed or suggested that the issue may be due to an aftermarket radio allegedly installed in the vehicle. I dispute that explanation. I have not replaced the rear camera, and I do not accept Ford’s unsupported attempt to attribute an unresolved safety recall defect to an aftermarket component without competent inspection findings, diagnostic proof, or written documentation. If Ford or Wade Ford contends that an aftermarket radio is the cause, then I request that they provide a written technical explanation, diagnostic results, photographs, technician notes.

And I start smelling what appears to be a gas smell and I wasn’t quite sure what was coming from so I cracked the window a little bit and said that I would try to check it when I got to work seeing that I was only roughly about 10 minutes away from work and out the corner of my right eye I noticed a flicker of light and it appeared to be flames coming from the passenger side of my vehicle under the dashboard around the blow motor area and the fuse box panel. I immediately poured over, turned the car off and the heat off that I had on because it was cold that morning popped the hood to ensure there was no fire coming from the hood ran around to the passenger side, noticed there was flames coming from underneath and beside panel, where the fuse box was ran to the back of my truck grabbed about a water and attempted to pour bottle of water on the cover of the box where I saw the flames coming out heard the sizzle realize it was electrical fire so I stopped using the water at that point realized there was a SUV that pulled up next to me which was a off duty police officer he said he saw the smoke call for the fire department at that time. I grabbed some fiber tiles that I use when I’m washing my car. I bought a handful of those up and pulled the cover off the fuse box and I start padding out the fire until I was able to get the fire out. Fire department came assessed. The vehicle said that the fire was put out successfully didn’t see any more source of the fire they left the scene as well as the police officer contacted my insurance company. They told the vehicle to my residency. The insurance damage of investor came out on April 10 and assessed contacted me on April 13 and told me the vehicle was totaled and the root cause was the climate control blower motor They had caught fire and caused enough damage that it will be too expensive to repair the entire vehicle..

Then the speedometer quit working altogether and so did the odometer. If I turned the truck off and restarted it, it would reset everything for a few miles then it would start all over again. I went to the Ford dealership and got it fixed. It cost $2500. Later doing research, I discovered this is a problem with this transmission and can be very dangerous as the truck can downshift dramatically which our did once. If I’ve been on ice or pulling my trailer, it could’ve been catastrophic. I feel like this should be a recall. I also feel like Ford should have to pay for this.

  The failed components are called "cam phasers." It is a known problem with the Ford 3.5 Ecoboost Engine (that even Ford is aware of). The cam phasers can fail, causing the timing chain to fail at any moment. They rattle upon startup of a cold engine. The failure of the original engineering is causing owners of this vehicle, along with the F150 and others, to have to spend anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000 in order to replace these. The problem has been confirmed by the Ford dealer. In order to visually examine the cam phasers, it requires something like 10+ hours to open the engine. You do not receive a warning light to replace cam phasers. It is merely an audio diagnosis. Ford SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE for replacing these free of charge and replacing them with the newer versions of cam phasers, which apparently don't fail. Driving around with rattling cam phasers can leave you stranded!

  I receive a recall 22S56 for the climate control blower motor it was replaced under warranty on 12/17/2024 about a year latter I noticed blower stopped working on 12/13/2025 coming from San Francisco because visibility was affected when defroster stopped working, then I called dealer on 12/23 /25 and they gave me an appointment for them see the vehicle, I asked then to repaired under recall warranty and dealer denied it. dealer saying is something else o not related. I called manufacturer stating the safety concern that defroster been affected because blower not working and they said its been a year and they can not help, now blower some times works, other times does not work or works very slow. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.
• 10251934During service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.

Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.

Recommend that the customer uninstall the app to ensure this is not contributing to battery symptoms experienced. Advise the customer that unaffiliated third-party app developers do not work directly with Ford to adhere to security, vehicle communication, and privacy requirements.

To prevent a SYNC system lockup during transport mode deactivation, follow the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure exactly allowing time for the SYNC system to complete its tasks such as fully booting up or powering down and shutting off before moving to the next step of the procedure. Refer to the WSM for further detail on the CAN Protection Strategy. Lost keys and replacement of BCM for lost keys is non-warrantable.

• 10164508Some 2010-2020 vehicles may exhibit distorted glass with a subtle orange peel pattern or streaking etched into the surface. This is caused by hydrofluoric acid which is used in some car wash solutions as a cleaning agent. Hydrofluoric acid can attack the glass and cause visual distortion and/or discoloration on the outer surface which cannot be removed by further cleaning. If this type of distortion is found, inspect the area of the glass that is covered by the cowl and/or molding. The portion of glass that is covered by the cowl or molding will not be affected by the acid. Hydrofluoric acid damage is not a defect in material or workmanship and is not a warrantable condition.
• 10164497For Ford and Lincoln vehicles that require positive or negative battery terminal replacement, it is not necessary to replace the complete battery cable harness (14300 and 14301) for this concern. Positive battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-AA and negative battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-BA are available for this type of repair. Do not cut or shorten the battery cable, instead carefully remove the affected battery cable clamp and clean the cable end as necessary to preserve wire length. Some rework may be necessary for some vehicle environments. Bend the new positive battery cable clamp as needed and crimp it to the existing battery cable. Make sure to use heat shrink tubing over the battery cable to battery cable clamp connection. Obtain the heat shrink tube locally.

For harness FL7Z-15K867-A, use 9U2Z-14S411-CC pigtail kits for C1428, C1429, C1430, and C1431 (front parking sensor connectors), use CU2Z-14S411-MA pigtail kits for C1322, C1323, C1750 and C1751 (fog lights and DRLs), and CU2Z-14S411-ADA for C110 (bumper-to-body harness). For the BL7Z-15K868-A harness, use 9U2Z-14S411-CC pigtail kits for C4009, C4010, C4011, and C4012 (rear parking sensors), use FU2Z-14S411-DB for C494 (bumper-to-body harness). For unused/open cavities, cut the pigtail wire 1" from the connector and use heat shrink to seal the wire to prevent water entry.

This may be due to a poor electrical connection at the blower motor speed control. If the blower motor speed control is determined to be the causal part, replacement of the electrical connector pigtail harness (14S411) to the blower motor speed control is also recommended to avoid repeat repairs. Use pigtail harness service part numbers 3U2Z-14S411-ZEA or CU2Z-14S411-FA, as both parts are interchangeable. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Cell 5 for recommended splicing procedures.
