Shortly after installing a spectra premium replacement fuel tank on my 1991 camry, the vent tube leaked fuel and vapors due to a defect in the joint where the vapor tube IS soldered to the tank. A hairline crack at this joint was either present at manufacture, or developed soon after install, through which significant vaporous and liquid gasoline escaped. This IS a fire and explosion hazard as well as a health and air pollution hazard. I called spectra premium to alert them to this and they refused to assist me and did not return phone calls and messages. The company basically just blew me off and seems to care less about a serious safety problem. I had to use two part epoxy to seal the hairline crack as an interim fix. *tr

I was traveling toward kokomo, indiana, returning home from a dr's appointment with my service dog, gamsby. there was a harley_davidson trailer truck with a michigan license plate in front of me. a large metal l shaped bar flew from under the trailer and under my car, sending it into a spin and tearing up the bottom of the car. my car IS no longer operational for trips out of town. I tried to talk with the harley davidson company and they claimed no responsibility. I am a college teacher, disabled and both me and my seizure dog were injured. harley-davidson's corporate office brushed us off like dirt. it IS hard enough to survive with medical bills and little income. now my dog IS having seizures (probably due to his head hitting the dash in the crash) and do not have a safe car to drive. I know life IS not fair, but in this case I think the larger company feels they are above the law. *Tr

Re: nhtsa campaign ID number: - 93v147000. I was driving home listening to the radio when it stopped working. when I removed the radio from the car I found a sscp03 tag dated 07/13/94 with dealer code no "78" stamped on it. sscp03 IS the technical service bulletin (tsb) number I found for a "safety recall" .today I went to the dealership, at which I had purchased the car, to investigate this. the dealership representative presented me with a page of a "warranty dofu/ssc report" itemizing a "P03 1991 camry/previa radio 08/24/94 31027" for my vehicle. it was explained to me that this showed that the radio [toyota 86120-03042...ce-2233tl1b serial no. R7002084] was factory repaired on 07/13/94 and installed in the vehicle on 08/29/94, satisfying the requirements of the safety recall. I am concerned that: this radio ceased to function suddenly; the sscp03 identification appears on it; and, those dates preceed the issue date "sep 94" of the safety recall identified by alldata.com. *Ak
